Dr Christopher Chew is a specialist Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Physician with expertise in complex lung and sleep disorders. He holds public appointments at Alfred Health, Northern Health and Western Health and provides comprehensive specialist care across all areas of respiratory and sleep medicine. His primary clinical interests include Sleep and Ventilation Medicine, Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) and Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD).
Following specialist training, Christopher undertook advanced international fellowship training at the world-renowned Royal Brompton Hospital in London, the United Kingdom’s largest specialist heart and lung centre. During this time, he gained extensive experience managing the full spectrum of pulmonary hypertension, chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) and complex interstitial lung diseases, including sarcoidosis-associated lung disease.
Christopher also completed a dedicated fellowship in Sleep and Ventilation Medicine through the Victorian Respiratory Support Service (VRSS) at Austin Health. His expertise includes chronic respiratory failure, neuromuscular respiratory disorders, spinal cord injury-related respiratory complications, complex sleep disorders and advanced polysomnography interpretation. He holds a Master of Bioethics with First Class Honours, reflecting his strong commitment to ethical, patient-centred care and shared decision-making.
