Dr Peter Wallbridge is a Respiratory and Sleep Physician who graduated from the University of Adelaide before undertaking specialist training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Austin Hospital, completing his Respiratory and Sleep Medicine training in 2014. He subsequently completed a PhD at The University of Melbourne, where his research focused on the application of ultrasound in acute respiratory failure and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
Peter currently holds appointments as a Respiratory and Sleep Physician at both the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Austin Health. Alongside his clinical practice, he maintains an active involvement in respiratory and sleep medicine research and is committed to mentoring both basic and advanced physician trainees. He is a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand and the Australasian Sleep Association.
Peter has particular expertise in airways disease, including asthma and COPD, as well as the diagnosis and management of sleep disorders. He has also played a key role in establishing the Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) service at Warringal Private Hospital and provides perioperative general medical care. Above all, he is committed to delivering holistic, patient-focused care tailored to each individual’s needs.
