Dr Joyce Leong is a Respiratory and Sleep Physician with a strong clinical and academic interest in lung cancer, pulmonary nodules and early lung cancer detection. She graduated with First Class Honours from Monash University and completed her Respiratory and Sleep Medicine training across Austin Health, including the Victorian Respiratory and Sleep Service (VRSS), as well as the Royal Hobart Hospital. Prior to this, she undertook general physician training at Monash Health and Peninsula Health.
Joyce is currently undertaking a PhD through The University of Melbourne as part of the MACH Track program and Austin Health, supported by a competitive Australian Government Research Training Program scholarship. Her research focuses on improving the early detection and management of lung cancer, particularly within the rapidly evolving field of lung cancer screening.
Alongside her clinical practice, Joyce is actively involved in research, medical education and professional leadership. She has published in leading respiratory and healthcare journals and has presented her work at major international conferences, including the World Conference on Lung Cancer and the Asia Pacific Society of Respirology. She also contributes to specialist physician training through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, serves on the Victorian Committee of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand, and is an Associate Editor for Respirology.Alongside her clinical practice, Joyce is actively involved in research, medical education and professional leadership.
